Quotation Tuesday

Laughter and tears are both responses to frustration and exhaustion. I myself prefer to laugh, since there is less cleaning up to do afterward.  ~Kurt Vonnegut~

I've had quite a bit of frustration in my life recently.  I wish I could say I'm the type that laughs when I'm frustrated...but alas, I do A LOT of cleaning up afterward.  In fact, I cry for almost every emotion.  My dad used to tell me I wore my feelings behind my eyes.  He was right.  As usual.

I really wish I could change that about myself, but I don't see how at this late date.  I've tried, I really have.  But the waterworks are just there immediately, for everyone to see.  That in itself is frustrating.  But, it's who I am, so I'm owning it.

Do you cry when you are frustrated, sad, hurt, happy, angry (I hate that the most!)?  How do you deal with your emotions?

  1. Total crier. That's me. I wear it all out in the open for EVERYONE to see, but it makes me, me--so I'm ok with it.

  2. I learned so much about my emotions in therapy, that was really helpful for me. Not everyone's cup of tea however!

    1. I've thought about therapy for my anxiety issues. But I haven't actually gone. Maybe I'll try it out one of these days.
